Our Work on Racial Justice

Addressing the deep roots of racial injustice will require committed, long-term, collaborative advocacy. We believe progress truly is possible, and communities working together can make tomorrow more just and more prosperous than today. But we have a long way to go, and we face daily reminders of the hard work ahead.

The Appleseed Network confronts structural racism in our communities by building reforms across the wide range of interconnected systems that fuel racial injustices. We advocate for:

School integration and an end to the school-to-prison pipeline
Court systems that are fair, effective, and responsive
An immigration system that respects the rights, safety, and dignity of all
Public safety without mass incarceration and abusive policing
Full access to housing, healthcare, and food
