Judy Conti Interim Executive Director

Judy spent eighteen years with the National Employment Law Project’s Government Affairs Director. In that position, she oversaw NELP’s work ar the state, local, and federal levels, and led NELP’s lobbying of Congress, Administrations and Executive Agencies. She has been widely quoted in the print media and featured often on podcasts, radio, and television. Prior to joining NELP, Judy was the founder and Executive Director of the DC Employment Justice Center. Her substantive expertise lies in the areas of workers’ rights, civil rights, and economic justice.  She is known as an effective leader and supportive collaborator, and has been named as one of The Washingtonian’s 500 most influential people in DC since 2023. Judy is honored to help lead the Appleseed Foundation through this period of transition.

Sarah Pacilio Director of Network Collaboration

Sarah joined the Appleseed Network in 2019 as a Princeton Project 55 Public Interest Fellow. As the Director of Network Collaboration, Sarah strives to connect Appleseed justice centers around common goals and ideas in order to build capacity and expand the strength of Appleseed’s advocacy efforts. Sarah lives in Seattle, WA where you can often find her enjoying the nature of the PNW, reading alongside her cat, learning a new skill, or cooking a new recipe.

Quentin Anthony Anderson Director of Communications

Quentin is a Baton Rouge, Louisiana native who joined Appleseed Network in 2022 with over a decade’s worth of experience in non-profit and campaign communications, most notably having served as Communications Director for the national civil liberties organization Defending Rights & Dissent and as the Chair of the 2018 My Louisiana Equality & Equity Summit. As a graphic & web designer at heart & burgeoning video ad maker, Quentin often volunteers his talents to local progressive causes in his home state, such as building a website for a statewide transit reform campaign or filming interviews and B-roll footage for a prison reform documentary. In his spare time, Quentin enjoys watching football or Marvel movies with his pup, Geronimo Lewis, exploring the metaverse in VR, and attempting ill-advised DIY furniture projects on the weekends.​

José Arévalo Treasurer

José joined Appleseed as the in-house fractional treasurer in 2026, providing independent financial oversight and ensuring the organization’s adherence to nonprofit accounting principles and best practices. A seasoned nonprofit professional, he brings more than 25 years of experience across finance, operations, and human resource management. Throughout his career, he has advanced the missions of organizations dedicated to education, civic engagement, and social justice in the United States and abroad. Guided by a deep belief in mission-centered work, José has built a strong reputation for strengthening internal controls and financial management, serving in roles such as controller, director of finance, and, most recently, chief financial officer.
