DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce the kickoff to Appleseed’s Virtual Roundtable Series\, an engaging series of policy-focused webinars hosted by the Appleseed Network. This inaugural webinar will be the first in a 4-part series of leading-edge discussions on school integration advocacy efforts across the United States. \nThe series will be led by New York Appleseed and Texas Appleseed\, two Appleseed centers at the frontlines of the modern-day fight to integrate our public schools and communities. \nJoin us for an insightful webinar hosted by the Appleseed Network as part of our Virtual Roundtable Series. This event will feature UT Dallas Professor Dr. Jennifer Jellison Holme\, Professor of Educational Policy and Planning at University of Texas at Austin and co-author of the book Striving in Common: A Regional Equity Framework for Urban Schools\, along with the youth-led advocacy organization IntegrateNYC. \nOur guests will offer valuable insights on the history of school segregation\, explore frameworks that can guide us towards equity and integration in our schools and communities\, and emphasize the importance of student voices in the integration movement. \nThe series aims to foster conversations around school segregation and integration\, addressing the pressing issues of education equity and racial justice.
